Nice to meet you! I’m Kimeko McCoy, an Atlanta-bred, Brooklyn-based journalist and social media strategist. My knack for storytelling has granted me the opportunity to work with award-winning publications such as The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and currently, Adweek magazine.
I started as a feature writer after graduating from Georgia Southern University (Hail Southern!), but in the digital age, I strive to keep my skill set diverse. Within the last few years, I’ve shot and edited two videos focusing on diversity in Atlanta’s art scene, co-hosted a podcast about advertising and produced a podcast on poetry in Atlanta.
Currently, I’m an internet person who spends time on the hunt for up and coming memes and culture by moderating Adweek’s weekly Twitter chat. I’m also co-hosting two podcast: Adweek’s Yeah, That’s Probably an Ad and my own Love, Pop Culture.
When I’m not searching for my next story, I’m reading pieces from my colleagues, or a good book for book club. I spend a lot of time with my family, friends and pup.
